Hard Rock unveils $2.3b European resort plans

Hard Rock International has proposed a multi-phase $2.3 billion casino-resort project to be built near the PortAventura World theme park located about 70 miles southwest of Barcelona.

Entertainment World is scheduled to be built in several phases over the next few years.

The 8 million-square-foot entertainment hub will include a combination of hotel, convention, entertainment, dining and shopping areas.

Phase one will include The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona, which will include a 500-room, family-oriented hotel and a luxury tourism-shopping destination totaling 75 shops across 107,000 square feet.

The iconic guitar shaped Hard Rock Hotel will be a focal point of the Hard Rock Entertainment World and will offer 600 rooms within approximately 108,000 square feet. Among the largest in Europe, the casino destination will boast 1,200 slot machines and 100 table games. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona will also provide guests with a 65,000-square-foot pool and pool deck.
